Cape Cod Pet Transport: A Calmer Way to Get Your Pet to the Beach
There is nothing quite like summer on Cape Cod.
The salty air. The beach walks. The hydrangeas. The lobster rolls. The ferries. The sandy paws. The happy dogs living their absolute best coastal life.
But getting your pet to Cape Cod? That can be a whole different story.
Between long drives, traffic over the bridges, summer heat, rental check-in times, packed cars, ferry logistics, and pets who may not love hours on the road, traveling with your furry family member can quickly turn from beachy and breezy to stressful and sweaty.
That is where Skyz Pet Co comes in.
We provide private, one-on-one pet transport to Cape Cod and beyond. Whether your pet is coming from New England, Florida, California, Texas, or anywhere in between, we can pick them up and safely drive them to their Cape Cod destination.
You fly. We drive. Your pet gets a calm, private ride to the beach.
Private Pet Transport to Cape Cod
At Skyz Pet Co, we do things a little differently.
We only transport one pet or one pet family at a time. That means no shared transport, no strange furry friends on board, no unnecessary stops, and no crowded route-stacking. Your pet gets our full attention from pickup to delivery.
We provide:
Private, solo pet transport
Door-to-door service
GPS tracking and regular updates
Photos along the way
Safe breaks and lots of attention
Pet-friendly hotel stays on longer trips
Thoughtful care based on your pet’s personality and needs
We know pets are family. Some are nervous travelers. Some are older. Some need extra patience. Some just want to be talked to like they are the CEO of the car. We get it.
Our goal is simple: safe, loving, calm transport while being in service to pets and the families who love them.
Coming to Cape Cod for the Summer?
We can help families get their pets to Cape Cod for summer rentals, second homes, family vacations, seasonal stays, and longer escapes.
Maybe you are flying into Boston or Providence and do not want to make the drive with your dog.
Maybe your family is heading to the Cape in shifts, and your pet needs a separate ride.
Maybe you are sending your pet ahead so they are there when you arrive.
Maybe you are staying for the season and want your pet and vehicle transported together.
Maybe you simply want the trip handled by someone who will care for your pet like their own.
That is exactly what we do.
Escaping Before Things Get Chilly?
Cape Cod is not just for summer.
When the beach days start getting shorter and the sweaters come out, we can help your pet escape before things get chilly. Whether you are heading south to Florida, moving seasonally, or planning a warmer winter stay, Skyz Pet Co can transport your pet safely from Cape Cod to your next destination.
New England to Florida is one of our favorite routes.
Cape Cod to Palm Beach?
Boston to Naples?
Plymouth to Orlando?
Vermont to Sarasota?
Your pet deserves a smooth ride, and you deserve one less thing to worry about.
Yes, We’ll Take the Ferry
Heading to Martha’s Vineyard?
We love a ferry ride.
Skyz Pet Co can help transport pets to Martha’s Vineyard when the trip makes sense logistically. The Steamship Authority says pets are welcome on board its ferries free of charge, as long as they are leashed or in a carrier, under control, cleaned up after, and kept out of food service areas and off seats and tables.
So yes, if your pet’s summer destination includes a ferry, sea breeze, and a little island magic, we can help plan the ride.
Dog-Friendly Cape Cod Ideas for Your Summer Stay
Cape Cod has so many fun places to explore with your dog. Rules can change by town, season, beach, and nesting-bird closures, so always check before you go. The Cape Cod National Seashore notes that during summer, pets are not allowed on lifeguard-protected beaches, but leashed pets may be allowed beyond those areas unless there are shorebird closures. Pets are also restricted from posted nesting, staging, and migrating areas from late March through mid-October.
Here are a few dog-friendly ideas to start your Cape adventure.
Dog-Friendly Beaches
Cape Cod National Seashore beaches can be a great option for leashed dog walks, depending on lifeguarded sections and wildlife closures. Cape Beach Dog notes that National Seashore beaches generally allow leashed dogs outside protected lifeguard areas, but visitors should watch for posted shorebird closures.
Provincetown is also one of the more dog-friendly Cape towns, with leashed dogs allowed at some National Seashore beaches during summer unless restricted by nesting shorebirds.
A few Cape beach areas to research before visiting:
Coast Guard Beach in Eastham
Nauset Light Beach in Eastham
Marconi Beach in Wellfleet
Herring Cove Beach in Provincetown
Race Point Beach in Provincetown
Town beaches during off-season or designated dog-friendly hours
Always check town rules before heading out, especially in peak summer.
Dog-Friendly Walks, Parks, and Trails
Not every dog wants a full beach day. Some just want a shady walk, a sniffy trail, and maybe a nap after.
Cape Cod has plenty of options for dog walks and outdoor exploring. The Cape Cod Chamber highlights pet-friendly Cape Cod options including dog-friendly accommodations, beaches, and dog parks.
Some ideas to look into:
Cape Cod Rail Trail
Shining Sea Bikeway in Falmouth
Nickerson State Park in Brewster
Thompson’s Field Conservation Area in Harwich
Fresh Pond Conservation Land
Crowes Pasture Conservation Area
Provincetown dog-friendly walking areas
Cape Cod Canal paths
Bring water, watch the pavement temperature, and remember that summer Cape traffic is not the only thing that gets hot.
Dog-Friendly Restaurants and Patios
After a beach walk, someone is going to want snacks. Probably you. Possibly your dog.
Cape Cod has many restaurants with dog-friendly patios, decks, garden seating, and picnic tables, though policies may vary by season and staffing.
Provincetown is especially dog-friendly for dining, with Cape Beach Dog noting more than 40 restaurants in Provincetown that allow dogs.
A few places and areas to check out:
Provincetown patios and Commercial Street spots
Cape Cod Beer in Hyannis
Raw Bar on Ocean Street in Hyannis
The Pilot House in Sandwich
Liam Maguire’s Irish Pub in Falmouth
Seafood Sam’s in Falmouth or Sandwich
Truro Vineyards outdoor lawn area
BringFido lists several dog-friendly restaurants in Hyannis, including Cape Cod Beer, Barbyann’s, Alberto’s Ristorante, Fresh Ketch, Tumi Ceviche, Raw Bar on Ocean Street, and Pizza Barbone.
A good rule of paw: call ahead before bringing your dog, especially during busy summer weekends.
Dog Meetups, Events, and Cape Fun
Cape Cod has a strong dog-loving community. Depending on when you visit, you may find dog festivals, charity walks, beach gatherings, patio events, and seasonal meetups.
One local favorite is Paw Palooza, described as Cape Cod’s big annual dog festival with entertainment, activities, food for dogs and people, and fundraising for local animal shelters.
You can also look for:
Local dog meetups
Rescue fundraisers
Dog-friendly brewery events
Agility or training events
Beach walks
Seasonal pet vendor markets
Cape Cod dog Facebook groups
The key is to check dates before you go because summer event schedules change quickly.
Pet + Vehicle Transport
Skyz Pet Co also offers pet and vehicle transport.
That means you can fly while we safely deliver both your pet and your car to your Cape Cod destination. This can be especially helpful for seasonal residents, extended stays, snowbirds, families with multiple logistics to juggle, or anyone who wants the car waiting at the house without doing the long drive themselves.
And when it is time to head south before the cold rolls in, we can help with that too.
Let Skyz Pet Co Bring Your Pet to the Cape
Cape Cod should feel like vacation.
Your pet’s trip should feel calm, safe, and cared for.
Whether your pet is heading to Chatham, Falmouth, Hyannis, Provincetown, Wellfleet, Sandwich, Dennis, Harwich, Orleans, Yarmouth, or hopping the ferry to Martha’s Vineyard, Skyz Pet Co can help make the journey easier.
Private. Personal. Trusted.
One pet or one pet family at a time.
Planning a Cape Cod stay this summer? Let Skyz Pet Co help get your pet there safely, lovingly, and with plenty of updates along the way.
🌸 The Dog Moms Who Do It All (and the Pets Who Go With Them)
Mother’s Day isn’t just about flowers and brunch reservations.
It’s about the quiet, everyday love…
The early morning walks.
The muddy paws you don’t mind cleaning.
The way you talk to them like they understand—because somehow, they do.
For so many women, being a “dog mom” isn’t a trend.
It’s a deep, real bond.
And at Skyz Pet Co., we see that love every single day.
🐾 More Than a Pet—They’re Family
Dog moms are a different kind of devoted.
You plan your life around them.
You make decisions with them in mind.
You worry about their comfort, their safety, their happiness—just like you would for your children.
So when it comes time to travel… relocate… or even just spend a season somewhere new…
The question is never “What do I do with my dog?”
It’s:
“How do I bring them with me—safely?”
✨ A Different Kind of Travel Experience
Let’s be honest—traditional pet travel isn’t designed with love in mind.
Cargo holds.
Long delays.
Strangers handing them off from place to place.
That’s not what dog moms want.
At Skyz Pet Co., we created something different:
Private, door-to-door transport
Calm, comfortable rides (no crowded vans or shared trips)
Experienced drivers who genuinely love animals
Photo updates and communication along the way
Safe overnight stays when needed
Because your pet deserves to feel safe, seen, and cared for—even when you can’t be right next to them.
🚗 For the Moms Always On the Move
This time of year, we see so many amazing women:
Heading to Cape Cod for the summer
Traveling between Florida and New England
Moving for new opportunities or fresh starts
Reuniting with pets after time apart
And no matter the reason, the goal is always the same:
Keep their pet close to their life—not left behind.
We even offer the ability to transport your vehicle along with your pet, making the entire transition smoother, simpler, and far less stressful.
💗 Built by People Who Get It
We didn’t build Skyz Pet Co. as just another transport service.
We built it because we are those people.
Our team includes:
Groomers
Vet techs
Animal lovers who grew up with dogs, horses, and more
Professionals who left corporate careers to build something meaningful
We believe in doing things differently—
With more care, more intention, and a lot more heart.
🌸 This Mother’s Day…
Whether your “child” has two legs or four…
You deserve support.
You deserve ease.
You deserve to know they’re in good hands.
So if you’re planning travel, a move, or a seasonal transition—
we’re here to help you bring your best friend with you.
🐶 Because Love Travels Too
From Cape Cod to Florida, Vermont to the Carolinas and beyond—
we’re honored to be part of your journey.

How to Keep Your Pet From Getting Lost
Essential Steps Every Pet Owner Should Know
July is Lost Pet Prevention Month, and at Skyz Pet Co., we know how devastating it can be to lose a beloved pet. The good news? With the right habits and tools, you can drastically reduce the risk of your pet ever going missing. Here’s how to keep your dog or cat safe, secure, and by your side.
1. Update ID Tags and Microchips
The first line of defense is proper identification.
Make sure your pet wears a collar with a current, legible tag that includes your name, phone number, and town.
Microchips are essential backups, but they only work if your contact information is updated in the registry.
Recommended tools:
These services allow you to manage your microchip info quickly and easily.
2. Use a GPS Tracker
Pet tech has come a long way. GPS trackers can help you locate your pet instantly if they get loose. Some top-rated options include:
Fi Smart Collar
Whistle Go Explore
Apple AirTag (used with a secure pet tag holder)
Most GPS trackers connect to your phone and alert you if your pet wanders outside of a safe zone.
3. Train a Reliable Recall
One of the most effective ways to keep your pet safe is by training them to come when called—especially during stressful moments or distractions.
Start with short recall sessions indoors, then progress to outdoor settings. Use consistent cues and high-reward treats or praise.
A solid recall can be life-saving and is well worth the effort.
4. Secure Your Yard and Entryways
Many pets escape right from home.
Inspect your yard for gaps under the fence, loose boards, or climbable structures.
Install baby gates or door latches to prevent accidental escapes during parties or deliveries.
Keep pets indoors during fireworks or loud events. White noise machines can help soothe anxiety and block outside noise.
5. Practice Safe Travel Habits
Whether it’s a ride to the vet or a road trip, always secure your pet in the car.
Use a crate or a pet seatbelt harness to prevent sudden exits.
Never open the car door unless your pet is leashed or secured.
Avoid letting pets hang their heads out the window—this can be dangerous in traffic or high-speed situations.
At Skyz Pet Co., all our transport drivers are trained in pet safety and follow these best practices.
6. Never Leave Pets Unattended Outdoors
Even well-behaved pets can react unexpectedly to a sudden noise, unfamiliar person, or animal.
Don’t leave your pet alone in the yard, tied outside a shop, or in an open vehicle. Supervision is one of the most reliable ways to prevent a lost pet situation.
Final Thoughts
Preventing a lost pet isn’t complicated—it just requires preparation, consistency, and a bit of common sense. With the right tools and habits, you’ll create a safer world for your pets and a lot more peace of mind for yourself.

Buckle Up, Pup: Why Crash-Tested Safety Gear Matters for Your Dog
At Skyz Pet Co, we believe every dog deserves the best ride of their life—and that includes the safest one.
We get it—most people don’t think twice about letting their pup roam free in the car. But the truth is, an unrestrained pet can be seriously injured in even a minor accident—and can also put you and other passengers at risk.
Just like kids, pets need to be properly secured when traveling.
Why It Matters
Crash-tested gear can save lives
In a collision, an unrestrained dog becomes a projectile. A 60-lb dog at 35 mph can hit with the force of a 2,700-lb object.A loose pet can block help
Emergency responders may not be able to reach you if a frightened or injured animal is in the way—or worse, they may run into traffic. It gives everyone peace of mind
Whether it's a 10-minute drive or a 10-hour trip, knowing your pet is safe and secure makes a world of difference.
What We Recommend
We recommend that every pet riding with us uses one of the following:
Crash-Tested Harness (Seatbelt Compatible)
Sleepypod Clickit Sport – Certified by the Center for Pet Safety. Durable, easy to adjust, and top-rated.
Kurgo Tru-Fit Enhanced Strength Harness – Budget-friendly and safety-tested.
EzyDog Drive Harness – Heavy-duty and approved for vehicle travel.
Crash-Tested Crates
Gunner Kennels G1 Series – Virtually indestructible and CPS-certified.
Impact Dog Crates – Lightweight, secure, and made for travel.
Start at Home
We highly recommend that your dog begins getting comfortable with their harness or crate before their first ride with us.
Practice at home—let them wear the harness for a few minutes at a time with positive reinforcement.
Leave the crate open in a familiar space so they can sniff, explore, and relax around it.
Consider feeding them near or inside the crate so they associate it with comfort and safety.
At Skyz Pet Co, Safety is Standard
All our vehicles are equipped with:
Crash-tested crates and seatbelt clips
American Red Cross Pet First Aid Kits
Certified, trained, and background-checked drivers
We’re more than a pet taxi. We’re your trusted pet care partner on the road.
